Enabling independence, empowering, raising self-esteem, fulfilling potential are some of the key goals to aim for by overcoming barriers to using technology.
The British Dyslexia Association have a week long programme that you can access via the attached file.
In addition to the weeks activities there is a free Webinar on Tuesday 2nd October looking at
‘Realising Potential using Enabling Technologies’. The trainer is Abi James (there is a pen portrait on the website). The seminar runs from 19:30 until 20:30 and you will receive a CPD certificate.
On Thursday 18th October there is another free Webinar focussing on the Dyslexia Friendly workplace. Again it runs from 19:30 until 20:30 and a CPD certificate will be issued. The trainer for this Webinar is Jo Gregory, the BDA Quality Mark Development Manager.
Richmond School are embracing the use of Assistive Technology and developed the effective use of ‘Read and Write’ across the school.
Following Dyslexia Awareness Week YES @ Richmond School are hosting two training events on covering Dyslexia and Assistive Technology at Richmond School:
- Friday, 12th October Microsoft and TextHelp (Read and Write) will present a Assistive Technology Showcase.
- Friday, 7th December Abi James is going to speak about Dyslexia & Assistive Technology.
