Dales Schools Nominated for National Award

Huge congratulations to BAWB federation of primary schools (Bainbridge,Askrigg, West Burton) who have been nominated for a national award recognising their commitment to cycling.

They have invested in a bike fleet, balanceability for EYS, free to access after school club for all years, free to access Bikeability for Year 6s and a brilliant bike day for their nursery, reception and Year 1. Amazing for tiny schools.

Helen Pollard of Stage Once Cycles, who works with the federation of school and supports YES@Arete Learning Trust with 'Activities for All'  says 'We are lucky to work with many innovative schools that recognise cycling is hugely beneficial to children’s physical development which underpins all of their vital cognitive development which in turn enables them to learn successfully. Without successful development of gross and fine motor skills reading and writing are tricky. Just as important is the benefits to mental health, long term physical health and it’s is brilliant FUN.'

If you would like to include more opportunities for physical development in your timetable through cycling get in touch with Stage 1 Cycles.' https://www.stage1cycles.co.uk
