Yes @ Areté Learning Trust provides Regional Training with National Speakers. Our training on different aspects of supporting students with Specific Learning Differences will be available throughout the year. Listings of planned training are constantly updated.

Training on Understanding and Supporting Students with ADHD

  • These sessions are designed to equip your staff with the knowledge and strategies necessary to effectively support students with ADHD in the classroom.
  • Led by Kath Lawson (Lead for Inclusion – Areté Learning Trust)
  • Cost: £150 + VAT plus travel expenses
  • The training can be scheduled after school at a time that is most convenient for you and your team.

Training on Conscious Breathing - Supporting young people to become calm and focussed

  • Breathwork is the perfect wellness strategy for schools and parents to support both adults and pupils of any age, as it addresses core areas of health, physical, mental and emotional, in a simple, accessible way.
  • Led by Steffy Cappleman (SOMA Breath Advanced Instructor)

The SEND Code of Practice places great importance on involving parents and children in identifying, understanding and taking decisions about special educational needs. We work with parents, recognising the importance of neurodiversity, to create unique pupil profiles.

For parents be at the heart of decision making about their child, it is helpful for them to be fully informed about their child’s needs.

We liaise with a number of parents support group and offer:

  • bespoke support.
  • workshops, meetings and specialist information sharing.
  • reduced rates on all our training events for parents/carers.

This ½ day event will help all educators get to grips with an introduction of technologies to enhance learning for all.

Introduction to Digital Tools to support classroom practice 

  • Top Tech Tips for Teachers
  • Preparing students in a tech-laden world
  • Introduction to AI tools for Educators
  • Development of promptcraft to ensure efficiency and impact in quality of Generative AI content

Training Outcomes:

Increased understanding of the availability of technology to support teaching & learning

Practical strategies and resources for classroom practice Improved readiness to address future education developments, including AI

Training led by: Ben Whitaker (Round Peg Squre Holes Ltd)

Ben is a freelance consultant working with a number of clients on both digital and cultural transformation. Prior to this, Ben worked for 15 years in education latterly as an Assistant Principal, focusing on Digital Transformation and his subject specialisms of Religious Studies & Sociology. He is co-host of the popular Edufuturists podcast where he explores the future of education by interviewing thinkers from around the world, most notably around the implications of A.I. in Education. Ben has travelled around the world talking about effective tech integration that has an impact on learning and culture, notably in Rwanda, South Africa and AIDucation Conference in Bucharest. He is a Google Certified Innovator, Trainer & Coach. Ben is chair of governors at a primary school but most importantly he is husband to Amanda, and dad to Niamh (13) and Martha (9). He is active on social media as @itsbenwhitaker and is the author of the upcoming book, The Ideas Guy (www.theideasguy.io)
